Top Seeds To Face Off In Tomorrow's 18 Singles Final
1999-08-01 Top seeded Phillip King (Long Beach, CA) will face second seed Mardy Fish (Vero Beach, FL) in Sunday's 18s singles finals.
King marched past tenth seeded Tres Davis (Austin, TX) 6-1, 6-3 in today's first 18s semi-final match. Fish eliminated fifth seed David Martin (Tulsa, OK) 6-7(8), 7-5, 6-0 in this afternoon's second semi-final match which ended shortly after 3:00 p.m.

Sunday's 18s final match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Stowe Stadium.

Abougzir-Ginepri Win Doubles Title; Face Each Other In Singles Final
1999-08-01 It's been a good day for Ytai Abougzir (Boca Raton, FL) and Robby Ginepri (Marietta, GA). Both won their respective semi-final matches and advanced to tomorrow's final, then they paired up to win the 1999 doubles title in the 16's division. The sixth seeded Abougzir and Ginepri beat second seeds Stephen Armritraj (Calabasas, CA) and Sam Warburg (Sacramento, CA) in two sets 6-3, 6-4.

In the 18 doubles final, fourth seeds LeVar Harper-Griffith (Sarasota, FL) and Andy Roddick (Boca Raton, FL) defeated ninth seeds Michael Calkins (Portland, OR) and John Paul Fruttero (San Marino, CA) 6-2, 6-2 to earn the 18's title.

Ginepri Captures 16's Singles Championship
1999-08-01 Robby Ginepri (Marietta, GA) captured his second title in as many days by winning the 1999 16's Singles Championship 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. Ginepri beat his doubles title partner Ytai Abougzir (Boca Raton, FL) in a grueling three set match on Sunday afternoon.

The last time anyone duplicated Ginepri's dual title feat in Kalamazoo was five years ago when both Mike Russell (16s) and Paul Goldstein (18s) captured both the singles and double title in 1994.

King Defeats Fish For 18's Singles Championship
1999-08-01 Top seeded Phillip King (Long Beach, CA) defeated second seed Mardy Fish (Vero Beach, FL) to win the 1999 18's Singles Championship. King dominated the last two sets to win the exhausting best of five match 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 late Sunday afternoon.

Both King and Fish provided tennis fans with a full compliment of top-level tennis this week in Kalamazoo on their way to today's match-up. A large crowd enjoyed Sunday's King/Fish match which closed out the 1999 USTA Boys' National Championships at Stowe Stadium.
