And Then There Were Eight

Day seven in Kalamazoo arrives with the threat of afternoon rain and just eight players remaining in both the 18 and 16 singles draw.

The top two seeds in both divisions, Phillip King/Mardy Fish (18s) and Jesse Witten/Robby Ginerpri (16s), have made it to the quarter finals. The only unseeded player to survive is Chris Martin (Tulsa, OK).

Half of the quarter final matches in both divisions will be played at Stowe Stadium today. David Martin, Chris' brother and fifth seed, will play Andy Roddick (Boca Raton, FL) while York Allen (McLean, VA) faces off against second seed Mardy Fish (Vero Beach, FL). Both matches are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.

In the 16s division, third seed Hamid Mirzadeh (Lake Worth, FL) will play fifth seed Ryan Heinburg (Agoura Hills, CA) while second seed Robby Ginerpri (Marietta, GA) will try to fend off eleventh seed Brian Wright (Fresno, CA). Both matches begin at 10:00 a.m.
