Rubin and Kozlov earn US Open Wild Cards

No. 2 seeds Noah Rubin and Stefan Kozlov earned wild cards into the main draw of the U.S. Open doubles with a 6-2, 6-2 boys 18s win over top seeds Collin Altamirano and Deiton Baughman Saturday afternoon. “We were really pumped up.” Rubin said. “It was the last match. We really put it all out there. It was, by far, our best playing. They’re a great team and you can see the score. We played very well.” Rubin has a chance for a sweep when he faces Altamirano, the defending singles champion, Sunday afternoon in the best-of-five singles final. In boys 16s doubles, top seeds John McNally and Gianni Ross defeated 12th seeds Matthew Galush and Brenden Volk, 6-1, 6-2. McNally is also in today’s singles final against ninth seed Connor Hance.
