Stowe Stadium Practice Courts

Practice times will be scheduled for the Stowe Stadium courts as follows:

  • Wednesday, July 31: Noon - 6 pm
  • Thursday, August 1: 8 am - 6 pm

Practice courts guidelines are as follows:

  • Must be reserved in person at the Stowe Tower to allow all participants an equal opportunity at reserving court time – no telephone reservations will be taken. 
  • Reservations can be made by player, parent/guardian or coach.
  • Reservations may be made at the Stowe Stadium Tower on a first come - first served basis.
  • Players may reserve a court, understanding that they may be required to share a court (1/2 court per reservation).
  • Practice time blocks are for one hour per day.
  • If vacant courts are available they will be assigned on a standby basis, first come - first served.
  • Coaches may hit with a player, but will be asked to share a court if needed. In case of rain, Stowe Stadium reservations are cancelled.

No reservations for WMU courts. WMU courts are on a first come - first served basis. WMU courts will be open as follows:

  • Wednesday, July 31: 8 am - 8 pm
  • Thursday, August 1: 8 am - 8 pm
Markin Indoor Warm-Up Courts
 
During the tournament, the indoor courts at Markin Racquet Center are used as warm-up for players with scheduled matches. The courts are available on a first come – first served basis. Players with scheduled matches will be given priority.
 
  • The courts will be open from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm. Players are expected to share and clean up after themselves.
 
Markin Indoor Warm-Up Court rules are as follows:
• Walk in and sign in - no advance sign-up for court time. Courts should be utilized with four players per court.
• General rules:
- Players will have at least a half hour to warm up before a match
- Players may play until they are bumped. It is highly unlikely that anyone will wait more that a half hour; generally they will be able to get right on court
 
The YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo (both Maple and Portage branches) are available for use by players with tournament ID. Indoor courts are available to all tournament players for $10 per hour at both Maple and Portage branches.

Water and Ice

For your information, water is available on all courts at both tournament locations, bring your own water cooler and ice if you want it. If you'll be using the local practice courts, bring your own cooler with water, as most don't have fountains.

Parking

Parking spaces for spectators are limited. The tournament will supply a free shuttle service (USTA Tournament Site Shuttle) that will transport players and guests from the Radisson (host hotel) to the three tournament sites: Stowe Stadium at Kalamazoo College, the Sorensen Courts at WMU and Portage West Middle School. USTA Tournament Site Shuttle will run a continuous 15-minute loop between the Radisson, Stowe Stadium and Sorensen Courts on Thursday August 2 from 11am - 8:00pm (approx). Beginning Friday August 3, the USTA Tournament Site Shuttle will start at 8:00am and run until approximately 8:00pm. USTA Tournament Site Shuttle will end it's service and stop running at 5:00pm on the final Friday of the tournament, August 10.

Acker Lane, Light Fine Arts and Severn Hall parking lots are reserved for our Distinguished Sponsors and Patrons. Academy Street and other streets around the courts are available on a first come - first served basis.

NOTE: Due to construction on the WMU campus located off Dormitory Rd, limited parking will be available. There will be FREE PARKING in the ramp adjacent to the upper courts. Metered campus parking spots require payment. All other metered campus parking spots require payment.
