Safe Play Training
All volunteers 18 & over are required to go through SafePlay training in order to participate. Safe Play is the USTA’s comprehensive athlete safety program consisting of education, screening, reporting tools and policies for appropriate conduct in tennis. The USTA works with the U.S. Center for SafeSport and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee to develop Safe Play policies, procedures and educational resources to support the USTA Safe Play program.
Safe Play training is required annually, but the 2nd year of training is only about 15 minutes long. If you are a returning volunteer, we will be emailing Safe Play reminders individually to ensure you have completed training and assist with any questions.
Returning volunteers who completed Safe Play in 2023:
When your Safe Play is due to expire within 30 days, you will start receiving emails from USTA reminding you to complete your Safe Play training. The email subject will be something like "Action Needed❗️Our records indicate that your USTA Safe Play status is expiring".
-
Follow the link provided in the email or simply go to usta.com/safeplay and sign into your account.
-
There will be a banner at the top of the page guiding you to complete the training. If it is outside of the 30 days and your Safe Play is not ready to be renewed yet, there will be no option for you to complete any training.
-
Complete the approximately 15 minute training.
IMPORTANT: If you are not sure when you completed Safe Play in 2023, you are welcome to login to usta.com/safeplay at any time and check the date so you're prepared to take the training this summer before the tournament.
