Top seeded Phillip King (Long Beach, CA) defeated second seed Mardy Fish (Vero Beach, FL) to win the 1999 18's Singles Championship. King dominated the last two sets to win the exhausting best of five match 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1 late Sunday afternoon.

Both King and Fish provided tennis fans with a full compliment of top-level tennis this week in Kalamazoo on their way to today's match-up. A large crowd enjoyed Sunday's King/Fish match which closed out the 1999 USTA Boys' National Championships at Stowe Stadium.
