Managing Director of Travel Michigan to Serve as Honorary Referee

Kalamazoo, Mich...Dana Lee Cole, Managing Director of Travel Michigan, will serve as the 2000 Honorary Referee at the USTA Boys' 18 and 16 Super National Hard Court Championships.

Cole was appointed to the position of Managing Director in April by Governor John Engler. Travel Michigan , which is housed within the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) promotes travel, recreation, and cultural events in Michigan. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Deputy Michigan Business Ombudsman for two years. She also served as a member of Governor Engler's policy staff from 1991 to 1996, dealing with a wide variety of issues, including welfare reform, civil rights, and environment and natural resources. Cole holds an undergraduate degree from James Madison College at Michigan State University and a graduate degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago.

Dana Lee Cole will be introduced at the opening night ceremonies on Friday, August 4 prior to the National City Bank Exhibition between Jan-Michael Gambill and Paul Goldstein. We will also celebrate Rolla Anderson's 80th birthday and Paul Goldstein's 24th with song and a special presentation to Rolla. Anderson retired from his post as tournament director in 1993 after 35 years of service.
