Top Seeds Reign at the USTA Boys 18 and 16 Super National Hard Court Championships
Top seeded Rajeev Ram of Carmel IN breezed right through the finals with another straight-set victory over No 4 seeded Joshua Cohen, Weston FL to take the 16s Championship title. Ram dispatched the 6-3, 6-0 match in less than an hour.
Phillip King of Long Beach, CA claimed back-to-back 18?s championships today with his win over No 2 seeded Robby Ginepri of Marietta, GA. He took the three-out-of-five-set championship match in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. As the 18s winner, he receives an automatic wild card in to the main draw of the U.S. Open.
In the 16s Championship, the third place winner was No 2 seeded Prakash Amritraj of Encino, CA over No 11 seeded Mathew Cloer of Linville, NC.
Third place in the 18s Championship went to No 5 seed Ytai Abougzir of Boca Raton, FL and fourth place to No 4 seeded Bo Hodge of Athens, GA.
