Tennis Great Stan Smith to Conduct Doubles Clinic at National City Exhibition

One of tennis' greatest players will show Kalamazoo fans secrets to winning doubles at a clinic prior to the National City Exhibition. Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Smith will demonstrate the skills and strategies he used to win 61 professional doubles titles. Tips on styles, communication and tactics will give players of all levels new insights into the doubles game.

In addition to coaching the men's 2000 U.S. Olympic team, Smith is a past director of coaching for the USTA Player Development Program. As player, coach and parent, he has been a frequent visitor to Kalamazoo, the site of his 18s singles title in 1964.

Before the clinic, Smith will signs copies of his 2002 book, "Stan Smith's Winning Doubles".
