Gimelstob, who won the 16s title in 1993 and the 18s title in 1995, is currently a member of the ATP tour. He has won nine professional doubles titles and has been a singles finalist in four events. Currently number 82 in the ATP Champions Race, Gimelstob is making his second appearance in the National City exhibition; he appeared with David Wheaton in 1997.

Gimelstob and his as yet unnamed opponent will play the number one seeded doubles team in the 18s division. The doubles seedings are announced on Thursday evening. After the doubles, the two professionals will play an eight game pro set.
