Gary Sacks, last year's 16s singles champion in Kalamazoo, was eliminated in the third round of 18s singles Monday afternoon. Sacks, seeded 10th, was beaten by unseeded Monte Tucker, 6-4, 6-4, 4-6. Sacks was the only seed in the 18s to lose on Monday, while in 16s, four seeds failed to advance, Calvin Kemp (18), Bradley Mixson (22), Jeff Dadamo (25), and Ted Kelly (32).

In 16 doubles, two seeded teams fell, eighth seeded Steven Forman and Steve Johnson, and ninth seeded Bijan Moallemi and Wil Spencer.
