Ram and Young Named Top Seeds for USTA Super Nationals
Top seeded Ram won the 16s singles and doubles Championships last year. This year, playing in the 18s division, he captured the singles title at the Easter Bowl and T-Bar International tournaments. Second seeded Brian Baker won the Columbus Indoor tournament, USTA level 3 division, was a semifinalist in the Coffee Bowl in Costa Rica, and reached the singles round of 16 at USTA Super National Clay Courts. He was the 16s Feed-in champion in last year's Super Nationals in Kalamazoo. Ytai Abougzir of Boca Raton is seeded third. Abougzir was a singles finalist at the Coffee Bowl and a semifinalist in the Easter Bowl.
Sukhwa Young of Wesley Chapel, Fla., is the top seeded player in the 16-and-under division. He won the singles and doubles championship titles at the USTA Super National Clay Courts and the singles title at the Easter Bowl. Second seeded Luke Shields of Grand Junction, Colo., was the runner-up to Young at the Easter Bowl and a finalist at the Super National Winter Championships. James Wan of Woodbury, N. Y., is seeded number three. Scott Oudsema of Portage is seeded ninth in the 16s, the first Kalamazoo area player ever to be seeded at the Nationals.
