Kalamazoo's Nick Rinks recovered from opening match jitters in time to defeat Alexander Zuck of Toms River, NJ, 2-6,6-0,6-2 in Boys 16s singles action on Saturday.

In second round Boys 18 singles, Portage's Scott Oudsema beat Konstantin Lazarov, Tampa FL, 6-3, 6-3. Oudsema does not play again in singles until Monday, but will take the court at 2 p.m. at WMU with partner Phillip Simmonds. They are seeded fourth, having won two titles in South Africa last month.

Also in 18s doubles third round play, Eric Hodgman of Kalamazoo teams with Shaun Young of Charleston SC to play the ninth seeded team of Ryler De Heart and Goran Dragicevic of Tampa FL.

Ryan Berger of Grand Rapids lost to Treat Huey of Alexandria, VA, 7-6(8),7-5 in Boys 18 singles action at WMU.
