Singles Favorites Reach Fourth Round with Victories Monday

Second seed Kean Feeder of Portland OR ended a long evening of tennis when Danny Bryan's forehand passing shot sailed inches wide. Feeder and Bryan (of New Orleans LA) began their match at 6:00 p.m. on court eight and, after two rain delays and the onset of darkness, finished at 10:30 p.m. on court three. Feeder prevailed 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.

Earlier in the afternoon, top seed Wayne Odesnik of Weston FL outlasted Ned Samuelson of Belmont MA 6-2, 6-3. Third seed Jamil Al-Agba of Tarzana CA defeated Nick Hegarty of St. Joseph MO 6-4, 6-1. Fourth seed Robert Yim of Glendale CA hammered Kieran Burke of Summit NJ 6-0, 6-0. Yim has yet to lose a game in the singles draw.

In the 16 singles draw, 4th seed Matt Bruch of Lake Forest IL bagelled Ryan Farlow of Madison MS 6-0, 6-0. Bruch became the favorite to reach the final from the bottom half of the draw when 2nd seed Christopher Chirico of Bradenton FL lost his second round match to unseeded Rook Schellenberg of Dallas TX. On the top half, 1st seed Marc Spicijaric of Wesley Chapel FL kept his run alive by besting Stephen Shields of West Point MS 7-5, 6-3.

In the 16s third round doubles matches held Monday, all the top seeds advanced as expected.
