Oliver Crawford Advances
Oliver Crawford is the only unseeded player left in the main draw after defeating No. 14 Alexander Keyser, Danville, Calif., 6-3, 5-7, 6-2, in a boys 16s quarterfinal match Thursday. Crawford, Spartanburg, S.C., will play No. 9 Connor Hance (9), Torrance Calif., in Saturday’s semifinal. The other semi pairing will be determined on Friday. “I’ve been playing mainly sectional tournaments,” Crawford said of not being seeded. “I played Clay Courts this year and the first Super National I played was last year in Fort Lauderdale. This is my third Super National. I just keep playing my game. In the second set, I got a little tight and he played well. He played a good set and kept me on the defense a good bit. I had to try to get on the offense and I got a little too aggressive and it didn’t turn out my way.” One boys 18s semi is set with Noah Rubin (3), Rockville Centre, N.Y., facing Michael Mmoh (7), Temple Hills, Md.
